History

InfraScience was founded in the summer of 2003 by Phil Bartholomew, Jeff Meyer and Mark Pierce.  Collectively having experiences with such great organizations as KPMG, HP, Whittman-Hart, Crescendo Technologies, XcelleNet, Esavio and Extreme Logic, the founders held a common vision for providing consulting services specifically focused on Microsoft infrastructure solutions.  We enjoyed delivering projects related to directory services, messaging, collaboration, systems management and infrastructure optimization.  Having worked in consulting roles for a variety of large and small companies; and having delivered many complex projects, we felt there was demand in the consulting marketplace for people with the following traits:

  • Do not be afraid of hard work - use a "blue collar" approach to getting it done
  • Be honest, reliable and respectful in every interaction
  • Learn all you can about a client's business and objectives
  • Make a commitment to exceed expectations
  • Possess a burning desire to continually grow your skills professionally and technically

If an individual or company, for that matter, possessed these traits and consulting was in their blood; there would be value in working together to help organizations tackle their infrastructure technology goals.  Our humble beginnings took root from these tenets.

Why Infrastructure?
Phil, Jeff and Mark have devoted their entire careers to technology infrastructure disciplines.  From helpdesk, to lan administration, to consultant, to architect, to consulting practice leader; our individual progressions included every information technology role related to infrastructure.  Our consulting experiences were commonly defined by helping clients optimize and transform infrastructure. Over the years, we came to understand there is always opportunity to improve efficiencies, reduce costs and streamline the underlying architecture of technology. We also recognized every organization spends a percentage of their technology investments on maintaining or improving foundational infrastructure year after year. So, if we could help an organization get more return from that investment, wouldn’t that be something of value?

Why Microsoft?
InfraScience, from the beginning, has worked closely with Microsoft. Part of that decision came from prior interaction at other jobs or companies we’ve worked for and some of that direction comes from a general trust that Microsoft develops innovative solutions that solve business problems at a price point which is highly attractive. Sure, there are less expensive (or even free) options these days and there a lot of very pricey software solutions to answer business needs, but Microsoft, in our humble opinion, does a great job of offering the right choice for a multitude of infrastructure challenges. The Microsoft Partner Program is one of the best in the industry and InfraScience is committed to helping organizations maximize the money they invest in platform solutions.

Why InfraScience?
The company derived the name from the combination of two words which define our offerings: Infrastructure and Science. Infrastructure is defined as the "underlying foundation of a system or of an organization." Science is the "possession of knowledge attained through study or practice." As a company, we offer our knowledge to help companies recognize a better return on infrastructure investments. A lot of technology consulting firms try to be everything to everybody. We think having a laser focus on a specific discipline helps us be better at what we do. After all, it’s all we know.

InfraScience Today
Since the early days, we have stuck to our mission.  We continue to grow our skills and experiences.  Our relationship with Microsoft is flourishing with numerous awards and appointments to our credit. Our team grows regularly based on client demand. And, our reach into the marketplace is expanding as well. We are committed to maintaining quality consulting engagements and we offer to help where we know we can add value. In 2007 and 2008, we expanded our offerings to include infrastructure objectives like security, identity management, enterprise project management, desktop deployments and unified communications. InfraScience continues to invest in our energies in messaging, collaboration, directory services, systems management in infrastructure optimization expertise. We see a boundless future in serving organizations with a need to maximize infrastructure investments and remain committed to providing value in everything that we do.
